Bollywood beauty AiSHWARYA RAi has pleaded ignorance after a mysterious package of money was sent to her from the Netherlands.

The BRiDE AND PREJUDiCE actress claims she was stunned when a parcel of 23,000 euros ($30,000/£16,600) was sent to her Mumbai (Bombay), india home.
The package violated customs laws because no reference to the money was made on a declaration form on the packet. it is also illegal to receive more than 5,000 Rupees ($110/£58/84 Euros) by post.

Rai spoke to customs officials in Mumbai on Monday (20NOV06) and has not been implicated in any criminal charges. Authorities have now moved the investigation to the male sender in the Netherlands.

Customs official AK PRASAD says, “We have his passport details and his address in Holland. He’s not a fictitious character. He exists. But we have to find out why he sent the undeclared money.” Rai explains, “Like all of you, i am also eager to know who sent this parcel, from where and why it was sent.”
