Should there be a wedding? 57 per cent nationally believe that Aishwarya Rai should marry Abhishek Bachchan. Pune topped our poll. An overwhelming majority - 99 per cent believe the wedding is meant to be. in Ahmedabad 40 per cent believe the wedding should happen. However, nationally 42 per cent believe Abhishek’s too good for Aishwarya.

However, Mumbaiites thought differently with only 26 per cent believing Abhishek was too good for her. 25 per cent of Amdavadis polled also thought so. Hyderabad’s divided equally, with a 50-50 split down the middle on the ’should they, shouldn’t they’ question.

Nationally, 21 per cent thought Abhishek was lucky to have Ash at all. in Ahmedabad, only 5 per cent thought the same.

But do they make a fab couple? 70 per cent of Bangalore thinks so. Only 30 per cent of Amdavadis agree.

32-year-old flight attendant, Seema Pinto believes they should get married because of their looks. “imagine how cute their kids would turn out,” laughs Seema.

But opinions are polarised on this ‘union of the century’ as well. 19 per cent of their fans nationally, feel they are both good individuals but are probably just not meant for each other. in Ahmedabad that figure is 40 per cent.

“i think, Aishwarya is just attracted to the Bachchan name. She doesn’t even seem serious in her relationship with Abhishek. i guess, both are good with other people,” says Monty Bhatia, a 25-year-old model.

Even past relationships of both Ash and AB seem to have had an impact on the responses people gave. “Look at the kind of relationships Aishwarya has had in the past. All have ended in disaster,” says 27-year-old restaurant manager Pooja Kirkire. “Agreed AB too has had his share of controversy with the Karisma Kapoor episode, but at least they split amicably and did not make a tamashaa like Ash-Salman.”
