A day after the much talked about engagement of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, the superstar couple is back to work. While Abhishek, with mom Jaya Bachchan in tow, left for Jaipur to report on the sets of best buddy Goldie Behl’s ‘Drona’, Ash was busy preparing for her Karijat location of ‘Jodha Akbar’ that will commence soon.
When Aishwarya began her acting career in Bollywood, she was asked in an interview who was the person she found most good-looking in Bollywood. She had just one name then: Salman Khan . She got to act with Salman in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Salman and Ash became close to each other. Their dirty linen came into public view when Salman barged on the sets of Shah Rukh’s movie ‘Chalte Chalte’ and created a scene there with Ash. it was the last nail in the coffin of Ash-Salman relationship.
The actress moved away from Salman and found love in Vivek Oberoi .On the other hand, Abhishek’s engagement to Karisma Kapoor was broken off and she married a Delhi-based businessman in 2003. Abhi accepted the break-up and sank himself into work. That was the time when Abhi and Ash had already worked together in two films: ‘Dhai Akshar Prem Ke’ and ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’.
They were friends but there was nothing more to their relationship. She even offered prayers with Vivek at a temple in South india. Things began getting sour when Vivek announced the possibility of marriage with Ash. This allegedly angered Ash for being talked about her personal life in public. The relation consequently culminated in break-up in November 2003.
it is hard to tell when romance began between Ash and Abhishek. The song ‘Kajra Re’ for Bunty Aur Babli brought them close to each other. However, the two never acknowledged their relationship in public. Thereafter they signed ‘Umrao Jaan’, ‘Dhoom 2′ and ‘Guru’. Eventually both Ash and Abhi tied themselves into the knot of the engagement.
Abhishek Bachchan stated that it had moved him to see the instantaneous and genuine outpouring of love and affection from the people of india who had always stood by our family at any juncture. He also said that he was eternally indebted to them and humbled beyond compare.
Big B Amitabh Bachchan stated that it had been a very proud moment for him. Abhishek’s strength of conviction and desire had proved his greatest potentiality in ‘Guru’. His praise from critics and adversaries has just proved his worth, much more, than his credibility as a performer.
