British Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown, who was in india earlier this month, was reportedly floored by Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan’s performance in the “Kajra re” song in which the actor shakes a leg with his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law to be Aishwarya Rai.

He had paid a very special visit to Yash Raj Studios. Apart from Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar, one of the very special invitees to meet the man, who could become the next prime minister of Britain, was of course Amitabh. He spent a good half an hour chatting with Brown.

When it was time to give Brown a visual taste of Bollywood, the hosts decided to screen none other than their chart-ripping item song “Kajra re” from “Bunty Aur Babli”.

“Mr. Brown was completely enthralled by the Bachchans and Aishwarya in ‘Kajra re’. in fact, he seemed to want an encore. But there was no time for any other screening. Yash Raj Films chose this song and nothing else because to them, it epitomises the best of Bollywood,” one of the invitees told.

So taken up was Brown by “Kajra re” number that he rushed forward to shake Amitabh’s hand one more time and showered enthusiastic questions on the item song, those present there said.
