The mehndi ceremony was held at La Mer, Ash’s residence in Bandra and was a private affair. Abhishek’s sister, Shweta Nanda and Sonali Bendre, wife of Goldie Behl, a close friend of Abhishek took the mehndi to the Rai residence.
The mehndi was one of the finest in the country and was ordered from Sojat in Rajasthan. Ash looked ravishing in a red and gold zari saree designed by Neeta Lulla, her favourite designer.
The sangeet ceremony was also a private affair. It was held at the Bachchans’ residence Prateekasha. Various members of the Bachchan family put in performances on their favourtie Bollywood numbers.
A startling event took place last evening when a starlet named Jhanvi Kapoor tried to commit suicide claiming that Abhishek had promised to marry her and then ditched her over Aishwarya. Jhanvi worked with Abhishek on the sets of Dus and said that she had tried to commit suicide after hearing of the nuptials.
The good news is that a media enclosure has been set up across the adjacent 10the road with the adjoining road having been closed for traffic.
