Living goddess and Bollywood movie queen Aishwarya Rai has joined in the criticism of a new wonder product that bleaches dark Asian skin.

Speaking to the press today Rai said that the “Fair and Handsome” sticky lotion was produced by confidence tricksters and caused huge zitty acne to boil up on users’ faces.

“Why do they do it? To look European? Do any of you know how many billions of pounds are spent each year by Caucasians on sun tan products that briefly make skin look the same color as Asian after the annual two week fry-up on the Costa Brava?”

Rai’s criticism comes as Bollywood A-Lister Shah Rukh Khan signed up to a huge TV promotional campaign marketing the skin-bleaching cream.

His face will adorn a slick new ad campaign with “before-and-after” photos showing his rugged good looks becoming lighter skinned.

“I don’t know why he’s doing it really,” Rai protested.

“It’s not as if he’s run out of money!

“Somebody maybe persuaded him to put his name to this tacky promo.

“But real men just don’t go in for that here in India.”
