There was a time when Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai were considered a mismatch. Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 2 will dispel such notions.

Hrithik and Ash’s detractors say their fair skin and blue eyes almost make them look like siblings. Perhaps that is why filmmakers in Bollywood have been apprehensive for so long to cast them together. But all that has changed now.

Hrithik and Ash will be seen next month in Sanjay Gadhvi’s movie ‘Dhoom 2’. The film has Hrithik playing a clever, elusive thief and Ash playing his partner in crime.

The feedback to the movie’s promos, showing Ash and Hrithik together, has been very positive so far. Hrithik says he has been flooded by messages from all over the country, complimenting him on his looks and how good he and Ash look together.

Quite interestingly, when Hrithik began shooting for the movie with Ash, he says he had some preconceived notions about her. He was unsure of her ability to pull off a role that requires guts. But Ash proved him wrong.

“Sometimes a person’s beauty dominates his or her other qualities. But Ash proved me wrong. She impressed me greatly by her commitment and intelligent approach to her role,� Hrithik said in an interview during the days when he was shooting the film.

Hrithik says after ‘Dhoom 2’ he has begun to share a friendly camaraderie with Ash.

He is nowadays training for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s movie Jodha Akbar which again has him pairing with Ash.

But their roles in Gowarikar’s film would be in sharp contrast to the ones in ‘Dhoom 2’. After the action packed roles in the latter, the two will play Emperor Akbar and his Hindu lover Jodha in Gowarikar’s movie, which is about to go on the floors.
