Aishwarya readily talks her private life and little else…

One year after her wedding with Abhishek Bachchan, from which the media was derisively kept away on grounds of privacy, Aishwarya readily dishes details of her private life to promote her forthcoming film Sarkar Raj and the Bachchan’s Unforgettable Tour.

In a long winded interview to a lackey in the media, given to coincide with a press event to promote Sarkar Raj on Sunday, April 20, Aiswharya Rai talked little else other than her private life, waxing ‘Stepford Wives’ like on how good it is to be married to Abhishek Bachchan, how she had a new family to take care of her and how she loved her grand mother-in-law Teji Bachchan.

“Marriage is such a unique and beautiful experience in my life,” she said for the zillionth time.

“I’ve found a wonderful new family. My maiden family and this family together provide me with more than enough happiness and security. What more could I ask for?”

Prompted by the journo lackey to confirm that at one point she was ready to dump Pink Panther because Teji Bachchan was ailing she said, filmi style, “…she [Teji Bachchan] was not just his grandmother, but mine too.”

“Even though Abhishek encouraged me to take up Pink Panther, I made sure I left room in my contract for visits back home because I did want to experience Karwa Chauth and Diwali. Then I checked with my international manager to make sure that I could come back if, god forbid, grandma was in an emergency,” she added.

It is ironical how the press is flooded with the details of a star’s private life when their films are up for release; boring details that ring true to only their lackeys, but private details nonetheless.

To be fair, Aishwarya is not the only star who uses her private life to promote her films; almost all of them do. To be even fairer, it is usually not the stars who use their private lives to promote themselves, but their publicists and lackeys in the media.

When ‘journalists’ ‘interview’ stars, it is not unusual for them to email their questions, along with the suggested answers – not to the stars but their flacks! Most interviews that are published never happened!

So maybe Aishwharya did not actually say what we quoted her as saying above, but she sure agreed to being quoted thus through her flack.
