Aishwarya Rai dropped from Michael Douglas’ film
0 Comments Published by seo4india June 25th, 2008 in NewsBollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai has reportedly been replaced by the Hollywood stunner Catherine Zeta Jones in a film to be co-produced by Michael Douglas.
Douglas is making an action adventure called Racing the Monsoon on the lines of his 1980s superhit ‘Romancing the Stone’. The Hollywood star visited India last year and agreed to co-produce the film with the Bollywood production house Percept Pictures Company.
Douglas is now back again in India to finalize the shooting locations and to get a glimpse of the monsoon.
Originally, Aishwarya Rai was to play the lead role opposite Douglas in the film.
But now, reports say Ash has been shown the door from the project and Douglas’s wife Catherine Zeta Jones has been roped in for the part.
Catherine had said in a recent interview that she was looking forward to visit India early next year.
“Michael and I are developing a script that will be set in India. We will take our kids and all of us will come there, set up camp in India and shoot a film,†Zeta-Jones had told UK’s Telegraph.
Besides Michael and Catherine, the film would also have Matt Damon in a significant role.
‘Racing the Monsoon’ will be about a diamond robbery on board an Indian train. The film will most likely be directed by Steve Carr.
