It’s going to take much more than just great ideas for the bold and beautiful twosome John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai to scorch the silver screen. After Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana’, the onscreen couples’ yet another flick has been shelved.
However, unlike the previous flick where the gorgeous lady admitted to being uncomfortable romancing John in front of hubby dearest Abhishek, this time round the reasons seem to be purely professional.
Apparently, Ash and John were cast together in Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Happy Birthday’. The film that has been touted as an out an out love saga has had a rather rocky past, with it being passed by one producer to the other.
Initially, it was to be produced by Gaurang Doshi, but was passed on to Rohan Sippy at the last moment. However, with such uncertainty surrounding the film, director Sriram could not finish the script and Aishwarya’s dates couldn’t be worked out in time.
And going by her jam-packed schedule, Aishwarya now is not left with any dates as she is busy with Shankar’s ‘Robot’ and then Mani Ratnam’s film.
As for Sridhar Raghavan, he too has moved onto other projects. Speaking to a news daily the director said, “I’m now focusing on Agent Vinod which Saif will produce and star in. Hopefully, I’ll return to ‘Happy Birthday’ at some point of time. I love the subject. Ideally, I’d like to make it with the same pair.”
With this said, for now, the audiences will have to be content with Abhishek romancing John as the two play a gay couple in “Dostana’, Ash will simply have to wait for her turn.
