The film was also dubbed into Telugu as Priyuraalu Pilichindi. The movie stars Mammootty, Ajith, Abbas, Aishwarya Rai and Tabu.
The film is a contemporary Indian take on Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility. The film grossed Rs.20 million in the first week of release [citation needed] despite stiff competition from another Ajith release – Mugavari. It won the Filmfare Best Movie Award South in the year of its release.
