When actress Aishwarya Rai does decide to tie the knot, she says she will shout the news from rooftops.

Rai denied recent newspaper reports of an impending marriage with popular actor Abhishek Bachchan.

“News reports” about Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s impending marriage have now made way for further speculation about the link-ups…Are the “news reports” planted in the press as publicity for their impending release Umrao Jaan ? If so, by whom?

J.P. Dutta is more amused than incensed by the suggestion that his production house has orchestrated reports of the Ash-Abhishek romance.

Laughing drily JP says, “What will I be held responsible for next? The Kargil war just because I made a film about it? Honestly such allegations don’t hurt me. Aishwarya turns 33 this week

She rules the hearts of millions and is touted as one of the most beautiful actresses ever to grace Indian cinema. Aishwarya Rai, who turns 33 Wednesday, returns to the marquee after a long hiatus – playing a courtesan in “Umrao Jaan” and an oomph girl in “Dhoom 2″.

The actress, who is said to be dating Abhishek Bachchan, will reportedly announce her engagement on her birthday. According to insiders, Abhishek’s ailing grandmother Teji Bachchan is eager to see him married, and the couple is said to be planning to tie the knot early next year.

Also present were the leading lady Aishwarya Rai and director J P Dutta.

There was a time when Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai were considered a mismatch. Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 2 will dispel such notions.

Hrithik and Ash’s detractors say their fair skin and blue eyes almost make them look like siblings. Perhaps that is why filmmakers in Bollywood have been apprehensive for so long to cast them together. But all that has changed now.

Aishwarya, Abhishek to wed in Feb?

There’s a expectant buzz in the air after reports that Aishwarya and Abhishek’s marriage could well be around the corner.

According to Kannada newspaper ‘Vijayakarnataka’, Ash and Abhi will tie the knot sometime in February, 2007 and Aishwarya will officially announce the news on her birthday, November 1.

Chandrashekhar Swamiji, a renowned astrologer from Bangalore who is also believed to be a family astrologer to the Bachchan’s, told the paper that he had asked the couple not to marry this year because 8 (2+0+0+6 = 8) is unlucky for Aishwarya. Continue reading ‘Aishwarya, Abhishek to wed in Feb?’

According to Kannada newspaper ‘Vijayakarnataka’, Aishwarya and Abhishek will tie the knot sometime in February, 2007 and Aishwarya will officially announce the news on her birthday, November 1.

The story was revealed to the newspaper by Bachchan family’s astrologer Chandrashekhara Swamiji. According to him the year 2006 will be unlucky for the married couple and so he advised Aishwarya and Abhishek to marry in 2007.

Former Miss Universe-turned Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai says her forthcoming film Umrao Jaan would be the high point of her career.

Umrao Jaan that opens next month tries to relive the magic of the 1981 musical of the same name about a beautiful Mughal-era courtesan who searches in vain for true love.

“As an actor it was a delight, a dream, an absolute honor and privilege to have the opportunity to actually get a chance in your career to essay such a fantastic character. It was an absolute privilege and right from that part until this moment I can just say that it’s been an incredible journey, a wonderful process of learning and I thoroughly enjoyed essaying the role of Umrao Jaan,” said Rai, talking to the press here yesterday.
