Why are Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai fiercely guarding the fact that they have exchanged garlands in a temple in Madurai and officially committed to each other in October? Does it have anything to do with the Dhoom 2 release in which Ash is plotting against her real life lover boy!

Despite their poor on-screen chemistry in the recently released, Umrao Jaan, the fact is Ash and Abhishek are going really strong in their personal lives. The two were even caught smooching in their makeup van during the shoot of Mani Ratnam’s Guru in Chennai. From what we’ve heard, the Bachchans will be announcing the engagement sometime in January and are looking at a February wedding. So why is the couple still fighting shy and refusing to acknowledge the fact in print? The truth is that Yash Chopra has promised them to keep it under wraps, at least till the release of Dhoom 2. Did you do the stunts in Dhoom:2 yourself?

A did do a couple of them, however, with the mantra being safety first. We did push ourselves to experience the adrenaline rush, because that’s what makes it super exciting in terms of what you deliver and what the audience gets to actually experience on screen. The high point was at Orabi Gorge, where we had the bungee jump. There’s this one moment where Hrithik’s character Aryan challenges Sunehri (my character) to jump, and she goes for it.

That was an absolute high. i’ve never experienced literally jumping off the edge; it’s like jumping off a diving board. it was quite a moment for both Hrithik and me, because just next to us, there was a trickle of waterfall. So we could actually see water drops going down in slow motion!

Are you playing a negative role in Dhoom:2?

i guess assumptions are fine, because it keeps the curiosity about the film alive. But i won’t define my character as negative or positive, because she’s a livewire, and has a personality that’s just typically her.

it was definitely exciting for me to discover and deliver Sunehri. One moment she’s exuding excitement, in another she’s hero-worshipping Mr A (Hrithik Roshan), and the next she’s challenging him. in that sense, just like Mr A, even Sunehri will take the audience a while to figure out. The make-up experts of D:2 brought in from London really did a marvelous job. They completely transformed the stars to different human beings. Custom department of Mumbai has given her a clean chit. But who mailed her the mystery parcel containing 23,000 euros from Holland, is yet not known. Actress Aishwarya Rai is keen to know who the person is and why he sent such a big amount to her address.

Recently a parcel, held in Mumbai airport, containing 23,000 euros which is equal to Rs. 13 lakhs in indian currency, addressed to Aishwarya’s Bandra residence. Aishwarya has been even questioned recently by custom department in this regard; however the actress has denied any involvement in the case.

But the actress, who is presently in Jaipur, shooting Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Akbar Jodha’, said while talking to media persons that she’s eager to know the name of the person who sent the parcel, which has put her in such a tizzy situation.

Bollywood beauty AiSHWARYA RAi has pleaded ignorance after a mysterious package of money was sent to her from the Netherlands.

The BRiDE AND PREJUDiCE actress claims she was stunned when a parcel of 23,000 euros ($30,000/£16,600) was sent to her Mumbai (Bombay), india home.
The package violated customs laws because no reference to the money was made on a declaration form on the packet. it is also illegal to receive more than 5,000 Rupees ($110/£58/84 Euros) by post.

A mysterious parcel addressed to Aishwarya Rai , containing 23,000 euros (Rs 13.5 lakh) evoked great controversy. However, after two hours long interrogation by Customs officials at the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, she was given a clean chit.

The parcel in question contained a top-brand shirt, a pair of binoculars, a DVD player and other electronic items besides the currency. It was sent from Rotterdam in the Netherlands and marked to Aishwarya Rai . Immediately after this discovery, a storm was raised. Krishnaraj Rai, father of the actress had met the Customs officials on November 15 to clarify her position on the issue.

Bollywood’s classic fever is getting costlier day by day. First it was JP Dutta’s Umrao Jaan for which budgets hit the roof and now we hear that director Ashutosh Gowarikar has even raised the bar for himself to an extent where the film may well end up exceeding the opulence of Mugal-e-azam.

Apparently, real gold and diamond jewellery is being used for the film starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai.

indian customs officials investigating a mystery parcel containing cash sent to Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai on Monday cleared her of any involvement for the time being.

The parcel marked “electronic items” was sent from the Netherlands and was packed with 23,000 euros ($29,500) in cash, which postal authorities discovered during a routine check of overseas mail.

“She denied that either she or any of her family members had any knowledge of the parcel or its sender,” customs commissioner A.K. Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai has said she too is eager to know who sent a parcel containing Euros 23,000 (around Rs 13 lakhs) to her, why and from where.

“Like all of you, i am also eager to know who sent this parcel, from where and why it was sent?” she said while talking to reporters at Sanganer airport after returning from Mumbai last night.

She would be shooting for director Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Jodha Akbar’.
