Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai will star in a movie by Ben Kingsley on the making of the Taj Mahal, India’s famous marble monument to love, a report said on Thursday.

The movie is likely to be filmed next year in Agra that is home to the Taj Mahal, The Times of India newspaper quoted Kingsley as saying in an interview.

The Taj Mahal, recently voted one of the new seven wonders of the world, was built by Mogul Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632 and 1654 for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The inseparable couple, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan , has apparently been distanced by their work.The happily married couple has been sticking together since their wedding, be it Ash’s token appearance at Cannes Film Festival or the shooting of Pink Panther 2 in Paris.

But the last few weeks have been very hectic on Ash. She had been shooting arduously for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s movie Jodha Akbar at Karjat at night and doing the dubbing during the day, leaving her with very little time for hubby Abhishek.

India’s culture minister Ambika Soni has offered to quit in a row over whether Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is a reincrnated Hindu goddess.

Soni has been the top Indian government legal spokesman and had argued in court in favor of construction plans for an official sacred area that Aishwarya devotees believe has mythological connections to the actress,

“But the controversy has stirred up a hornets’ nest,” Soni said today after opposing litigants said they’d been stung by her assumptions. Aishwarya Rai is proving to be an ideal bahu for the Bachchan khandaan.As we all know she is quite busy shooting for her upcoming hollywood movie The Pink Panther 2, few scenes required her to wear hot and revealing outfits, but hollywood production was in for big surprise when she refused to wear any of those.

Now that her problems with the customs department have ended, there are joyful tidings for Bollywood’s beauty queen Aishwarya Rai. She is back in Jaipur shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha-Akbar with Hrithik Roshan.

“It’s going great!” Aishwarya exulted from Jaipur as she prepared for the day’s shoot. So, has she done any horse riding and sword-fighting as yet?

“None of the above. But I rode an elephant for a scene. And his name was Lakhi. After Dhoom 2 and its hi-tech ambience and accessories, entering a world of elephants and Mughal grandeur is a true culture shock. We hear that the actress spent the last two weeks frantically commuting between Karjat (where she’s shooting Jodhaa Akbar) and Mumbai.

Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai were treated to a sumptuous feast while shooting a sequence for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s movie Jodha Akbar .

Recently, Ash and Hrithik shot for a scene in which Ash (as princess Jodha) serves Hrithik (as emperor Akbar) delicious traditional food. Apart from the two stars, 18 other actors took part in the sequence. The actors played Akbar’s ministers.
