The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has reportedly refused to do an item number in Drona – yes, the film that stars her husband Abhishek Bachchan in the title role.

Goldie Behl ’s ‘Drona’ is a movie that is allegedly set to supersede Krrish with its highly advanced special effects and it is also set to be a feather in the junior Bachchan’s cap after consecutive hits in Dhoom 2 and Guru .

Aishwarya Rai observed her first ‘Karva Chauth’ following her April wedding to Abhishek at the Bachchan’s residence ‘Prateekshsa’ in Mumbai, joining millions of Hindu women across the world who fast for the longevity of their husbands on the occasion.

Several celebrities joined the Bachchan on the occasion including Kirron Kher, Sonali Bendre and ‘how could he not be there’ Amar Singh.

AISHWARYA Rai and hubby Abhishek Bachchan are back at home for festivities after a whirlwind shooting schedule in Boston and Namibia respectively.

The Bachchans kick- started the festivities with a pre-Karva Chauth tea party at Jalsa on Sunday evening.

Strictly meant for ladies, high-profile socialites and tinsel town divas were invited to Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow, Jalsa. Dressed in Manish Malhotra and Tarun Tahiliani outfits and diamond jewellery, the ladies sat for a mehndi applying session.

Bollywood debutante Deepika Padukone finds it flattering that she is being compared with Aishwarya Rai and admits to having followed the former Miss World’s career closely and taken inspiration from it to enter Bollywood.

“She is someone I have grown watching. I’ve been watching her ever since she won the Miss World. And she is partly responsible for me wanting to get into this industry,” she told CNN-IBN.

The famous wax museum has chosen the shirtless Khan to be part of their Bollywood collection. And, at least here he has beaten his bete noire Abhishek Bachchan to the post.

After a long gap, Aishwarya Rai will appear in a Tamil movie. Her Forth coming Hindi release ‘Jodha Akbar’ opposite Hrithik Roshan will be dubbed and released in Tamil.

The story is about the love story of Akbar and Jodha Bai, played by Hritik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. Music is by AR Rahman.

Aishwarya Rai had acted in films including ‘Iruvar’, ‘Jeans’, ‘Kandu Kondein Kandu Kondein’ in Tamil before.

Her films like ‘Taal’ were dubbed and released in Tamil. Hopefully ‘Jodha Akbar’ is going to enthrall Aishwarya Rai’s fans in Tamilnadu.

I mean, that’s what he’s doing if he says he wants to work with Aishwarya Rai, solely because he thinks they’ll make a good couple and it’ll be a boost for his career. Wow, actors. How selfish can you get?

Aishwarya already pulled out of a role with John Abrahams, and despite him wanting to act with her, she doesn’t want to act with him because the roles offered aren’t crystal clean and she’s doing the ‘good girl’ route now that she’s a daughter-in-law of Bollywood’s royal family.

Director Priyadarshan is totally upbeat about Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The film will showcase Vidya Balan in a new avatar, and Priyan says that it was indeed a task to make Vidya dance as well as National Award winner Shobana, who played that part in the original.
