At a time when star concerts are showing a steep decline, Bollywood’s most dynamic duo Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan along with Aishwarya Rai are all set to show the entertainment business how to make all the right moves on stage.

Entitled One Amazing Night the series of world concerts featuring the father and son Bachchan on stage is expected to storm show business.

Says the Big B, “Yes, we’re planning a series of world concerts. We’re looking at summer 2008. Filmmaker Jagmohan Mundhra’s Provoked, based on the true story of UK-based Kiranjit Ahluwalia, who killed her husband after she was tortured and was sentence to life imprisonment is releasing in India on April 6.

Here to promote the film along with Ahluwalia, Mundhra spoke to HT City. The film stars Aishwarya Rai playing Kiranjit, Miranda Richardson, Naveen Andrews, Rebecca Pidgeon, Nandita Das and others.

“She has done a fabulous job. In fact, everybody asked me why Ash? The problem is that most people do not see beyond her pretty face. That is a boon for her but at times, it is a curse. On behalf of herself and the Bachchan family, Aishwarya Rai has made a special request to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali .

The request is to see Bhansali’s latest film Saawariya which has been a subject of both criticism and praise from critics.

Thanks to London ’s famous wax museum, Madame Tussauds, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and former flame Salman Khan will get to be together. Well, we’re talking about their wax statues at the museum.

Salman’s statue at the museum will be unveiled in January 2008. As for Aishwarya, she already has a statue dedicated to her at the museum. Our source says, “There is a plan to put Salman’s statue besides Aishwarya’s. This will immortalise them together.”

Bollywood’s star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai visited Ameen Peer Dargah, a revered Muslim shrine, here on Thursday.

The Bollywood’s first couple, as referred by some, was accompanied with Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.

It may be recalled that Abhishek and Aishwarya, who were married in April this year, have been visiting holy shrines after their marriage.

It would be quite a handful for Aishwarya Rai fans in early 2008 as two of her films would be hitting the marquee in quick succession.

While 25th January 2008 has been locked for the release of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s JODHA AKBAR which features Ash opposite her DHOOM:2 star Hrithik Roshan, she gets to appear in a Bachchan family photo frame with the release of SARKAR RAAJ.

This Ram Gopal Varma film is expected to arrive on 8th February; just a fortnight after JODHA AKBAR. Though she is not paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the film, Aishwarya Rai is said to be playing a powerful character in SARKAR RAAJ. The shooting of Jodhaa Akbar has concluded with a lavish song. The film, directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar , has taken more time than expected to complete.

But its shooting finally got over with the filming of an elaborate song that was shot for about 13 days at Nitin Desai’s studios in Karjat.

Aishwarya Rai , who returned from the US a few weeks back, had been participating in the shooting of the song along with her co-star Hrithik Roshan .

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has casted Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the title roles in his forthcoming venture Bajirao Mastani. Moreover, Amitabh Bachchan is also going to essay an important character in the film.

The storyline of Bajirao Mastani is based on the true story of Bajirao, his wife Kashibai and his mistress Mastani.

Reportedly, even Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor had done a photo session for the role of Bajirao and Mastani respectively. The film will release in 2009.

The current strike by writers in Hollywood is resulting in widespread disruption of production schedules in Hollywood and is likely to impact the Hollywood ambitions of Bollywood stars such as Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu, if it is not resolved quickly.

The writers are demanding a greater share of residual profits from television series sold on DVDs as well as percentages of money made from programs shown on the Internet, cellular phones, and other new media outlets is addressed quickly.

Aishwarya returned late October from Boston, USA after wrapping up filming of The Next Pink Panther. However, she is likely to return to the US again for dubbing the film. Her next Hollywood assignment, Sir Ben Kingsley’s magnum opus on Taj Mahal, is still being scripted and is unlikely to go into production before August-September 2008.
