Aishwarya had happily agreed to work in a Manirathnam movie, slated to begin from June 2008, long before she accepted a role in Robot. But it will now be possible for her to appear in Manirathnam’s movie only if she opts out of Robot, which will begin at approximately the same time. She even shed 6 kg for the role as advised by director Shankar. Now, when shooting of Robot is about to begin, Manirathnam’s movie is also ready to start shooting and requires Ash’s presence. Manirathnam’s movie also stars Abishek Bachchan, another solid gold-plated reason for Ash; the plot revolves around the bickering and problems of a newly-married couple. One year after her wedding with Abhishek Bachchan, from which the media was derisively kept away on grounds of privacy, Aishwarya readily dishes details of her private life to promote her forthcoming film Sarkar Raj and the Bachchan’s Unforgettable Tour.

In a long winded interview to a lackey in the media, given to coincide with a press event to promote Sarkar Raj on Sunday, April 20, Aiswharya Rai talked little else other than her private life, waxing ‘Stepford Wives’ like on how good it is to be married to Abhishek Bachchan, how she had a new family to take care of her and how she loved her grand mother-in-law Teji Bachchan.

“Marriage is such a unique and beautiful experience in my life,” she said for the zillionth time.

High profile Bollywood couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan celebrated their first wedding anniversary in Miami where junior B is currently shooting for Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana’.

It was 1040 hrs local time in Miami on Sunday when Ash and Abhishek came to a downtown Miami studio for the video conferencing specially arranged for the press to unveil the first look of their film with Amitabh ‘Sarkar Raj’ at a suburban hotel at around 2000 hrs, IST.

The film is set for release on June 6.

During the interaction, Big B had to `warn’ the duo to `behave themselves’ as they cosied up before the video camera. “I see you doing some ‘khusur fusur’. “There is the media here watching you,” the superstar told the couple. Prime Minister designate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, who spent six years in prison starting 2001, says he watched Aishwarya films while there and is a fan of hers and Lata Mangeshkar.

“While in prison, I used to watch all of Aishwarya’s movies on my laptop besides listening to Lataji’s songs. And let me admit that I am a great fan of Aishwarya Rai now.”

Aishwarya Bachchan is going to act with Vikram as his lead lady in Mani Rathnam’s yet to be titled bilingual film.

Mani Rathnam is planning to start his next flick after critically acclaimed Guru with Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. Now actor Vikram is joining for the first time in Mani’s league. He is the hero in the Tamil version and Aishwarya Bachchan will be his lead lady. The actor will appear in a pivotal role in the Hindi version in which Ash-Abi play the lead.

Interestingly Abhishek will be made his debut in Tamil through this film.

For obvious reasons, the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan did not want Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for the Bachchans Unforgettable tour.

Salman has a huge NRI following and if he is included in the tour then it would have been an added advantage for the show, according to Wizcraft.

Aishwarya Rai has declined to star with Hollywood wonder-boy Will Smith again. This is the third time she has turned down his offer.

“That’s true,” she laughed. “I had to say no to Will for Tonight He Comes. I feel awful about it, but I’ve my priorities very straight. Yes, family always comes first,” said Aishwarya.
