The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has denied media reports that she is in the family way.

“I am not pregnant,” Ash, looking as glamorous as ever in a formal black suit, told reporters on Monday at a press conference at the PVR Ambience shopping mall in Gurgaon, on the outskirts of Delhi.

Ash, along with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan , was in Gurgaon to launch the Sarkar Raj Yatra.

Ash also dismissed reports that the couple had bought a bungalow in Dubai to hide her pregnancy from the media.

“I am sitting here in front of you. So, it is not true that we have got a bungalow in Dubai to hide (pregnancy) from the media,” she said. Continue reading ‘Aishwarya Rai denies she is pregnant’

He has not one, not two but three Bachchans in his new movie and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is hoping that Bollywood’s first family’s star power in Sarkar Raj will obliterate all memories of his colossal flop, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag.

Ramu insists that Sarkar Raj is neither a Bachchan family package nor a sequel to the successful Sarkar, which flighted three years ago. He acknowledges that last year’s Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, a remake of the blockbuster Sholay, was the biggest flop in the history.

“Casting them (the Bachchans) together was incidental. Abhishek and Mr Bachchan were the first preferences and then I chose Aishwarya.” He says while the movie is inspired by The Godfather, he believes “the uniqueness of my film is my direction along with the performances.” Continue reading ‘‘Aishwarya has proved her mettle in Sarkar Raj’’

Aishwarya gets candid

I have never belonged to any groups, very evidently. Coincidently Abhishek and I have worked in maximum number of films together and we actually even paid attention to it and looked back when we came together in our relationship.

Tamanna: Does it matter to you who the co-star is?
Aishwarya: Whether it’s Aamir or Saif or SRK, it doesn’t matter who the co- star is?
I work with film makers, not co-stars. That’s been very evident.

Tamanna: How do you deal with controversies and rumours?
Aishwarya: If the rumours cross the lines of dignity or respectability it does bother me. I’m human. It’s obviously bothersome and when the need arises if and when, i am there to confront it.

Tamanna: How do you deal with work and marriage?
Aishwarya: Abhishek and I grab the time that we get together and we savour it.

Tamanna: I saw Guru last, and for someone who saw it, it was Abhishek’s movie all the way…
Aishwarya: That’s the title of the film. Of course it’s Guru’s story totally. But I have had diverse opinions because many women have totally related to the character of Sujata.

Tamanna: Do you think being Mrs Bachchan has somehow overshadowed Aishwarya Rai, who you were? Is that compromise there?
Aishwarya: My ideology is not that this is a compromise. For me this is a relationship that’s growing and I’m just living life in its entirety and I love it. I embrace it and I’m experiencing it and I recommend it.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have invested in a resort style villa in Sanctuary Falls, Dubai, UAE. The couple recently attended a party for the owners of the 96 villas in the gated community in Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The Villa sizes range from 5,600 sq.ft. to 10,600 sq. ft. and cost from AED 15 million to AED 35 million (1 AED = $0.272). The community is scheduled for completion in 1st quarter 2010.

Each home has been designed with an arrival water fountain, resort style swimming pool, children’s pool area and fully landscaped gardens.

Aishwarya and Abhishek are following a trend set by other top ranking Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, of investing in the UAE real estate market. The builders often offer the stars concession in the sale price in order to use their names to promote the property.

“Dubai is special to us not just as a place where we enjoy great warmth and generosity in terms of love from the people, but it’s become a remarkable place and one that is so close to home for us,” Abhishek said.

However, Abhishek admitted that he had no plans to settle down in Dubai as the family lived and worked in Mumbai.

We are sure Raj Thackery will be relieved to hear that.
