With the release of Abhishek Bachchan ’s big film Drona around the corner, his better half Aishwarya Rai is flying back to Mumbai from a shooting schedule in South America.

Ash’s dates for Shankar’s film Robot (re-titled as ‘Enthiram’) were planned in such a way that she could be free for a few days around the time of Drona’s release. Thankfully, things went as planned and Ash got free from the ‘Robot’ schedule in Brazil and Peru a few days back. But she hasn’t yet flown in Mumbai. A couple of songs set to tunes by A.R.Rahman for ‘Endhiran’ were shot in U.S.A., Peru, and Brazil. Rajnikanth returned home from U.S.A on September 27 after the first schedule of filming was over. But then director Shankar wanted to continue filming in Brazil and required Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to stay back as many of her shots were to be canned.

Incidentally, hubby Abhishek’s ‘Drona’ releases on the 1st of October. Aishwarya expressed her desire to take part in the preview show of the film and also made it clear that her being alongside her husband would immensely add on as moral support. Pulling out all stops to make this a great movie, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been taken as the heroine for a remuneration of Rs. 6 crores! For this breathtaking sum, (a figure which even most South Indian heroes are yet to achieve) the green-eyed beauty’s call-sheet has been commandeered for almost a year, 200 days to be precise. Vogue has featured many Bollywood babes but gave a miss to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Now, in the October issue it will feature her on the cover page.

Aishwarya is shown wearing a baby-pink colour, off-shoulder gown from Christian Dior Fall 2008 collection. The shoot was done in London when Ash was there for the last leg of Unforgettable Tour. What happens when super-duper star Rajinikanth and world’s most beautiful woman, Aishwarya Rai dance arm-in-arm? Obviously, an unprecedented visual treat! Yes, recently the awesome-twosome shot an amazing dance sequence for their forthcoming film ‘Robot’. The lady was seen wearing ostrich feathers and her Rajini sir was at his stylish best. The spicy song sequence was shot at the UNESCO declared world famous heritage site – Machu Pichhu in Peru and the film went on to become the first ever shot there. Wow!

‘Robot’, one of the most promising movies of 2008, has been in news for more than one reason. Earlier, Shah Rukh had to star in the film but due to ‘creative differences’ with dirtector Shankar, he opted out. In walked the ‘baap’ of all superstars – the one and only Rajinikanth. After some hussle and tussle between SRK and director Shankar, the film was renamed as Enthiram. Bollywood’s dusky beauty Bipasha Basu has carved a niche for herself in Hindi cinema and says she has no intentions of going to Hollywood because filmmakers there are familiar with only one Indian actor – Aishwarya Rai.

“No filmmakers of Hollywood are willing to sign any Bollywood actor without a screen test apart from Aishwarya. They seem to know no Hindi film actors, not even Amitabh Bachchan,” Bipasha told IANS.

“I got a chance to go there, but I found out that I will have start again from scratch like screen tests and other tantrums. They treat you like a newcomer. It is no secret that Mani Ratnam has roped in the star couple to play the roles based on Lord Ram and his consort Sita in a contemporary adaptation of ‘Ramayan’ titled Ravan .

Bollywood stunner Aishwarya Rai would have to do a very different kind of preparation for her role in Mani Ratnam’s next film.

The movie, tentatively titled Ravan , will be a contemporary story loosely based on the Hindu epic Ramayan. It will have Ash pairing with hubby Abhishek Bachchan yet again.

Speaking to news daily, Aishwarya said, “There is the possibility of a movie with Will Smith and I am very excited about it because the script is fabulous and no doubt, he is a great actor and is a funny companion to work with.”

After starring in interesting Hollywood projects like ‘Mistress of Spices’ and ‘The Last Legion’, Aishwarya is excited about Will Smith’s next movie.
